President Jokowi: Indonesia United by Diversity
Thepresidentpost.id - Washington DC, United States - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Indonesia is blessed with differences and diversity that can unite the nation. In managing them, Indonesia has the Pancasila ideology which serves as a guide in state life. "In managing its diversity, Indonesia has a guide, has an ideology, namely Pancasila, unity in diversity that inspires in every aspect of life including state life," the President said when delivering a public lecture attended by nearly 500 participants consisting of academics and students at Gaston Hall, Healy Building, Georgetown University, Washington DC, United States, on Monday (13/11).
The President continued, for Indonesia, a difference that ends in rivalry and competition between countries is a natural thing. However, the Head of State emphasised the importance of managing these differences so as not to cause open conflicts that can be triggered by regional instability. "Communication, room for dialogue, collaboration, cooperation are the keys to achieving stability and peace both in the region and in the world," he continued.
On that occasion, President Jokowi emphasised that Indonesia is open to forging cooperation with all countries. Indonesia also expressed its stance of not siding with any power except for peace and humanity. President Jokowi also added that Indonesia's chairmanship of the G20 and ASEAN was conducted in a situation where the world is riven with sharp rivalries and heated geopolitics.
Currently, according to the President, the world is facing humanitarian problems with the ongoing war in Russia-Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict area. The Head of State believes that solidarity and global leadership are the keys to get out of the prolonged humanitarian conflict. President Jokowi emphasised that we all have the responsibility to maintain peace and we must fulfil this responsibility now.
