Thepresidentpost.id - Abu Dhabi, UAE - At the Ministerial-level Consultation Forum during the 7th Abu Dhabi Dialogue (ADD) (10-11/2), the Indonesian Ambassador to Abu Dhabi represented the Indonesian Minister of Manpower. The two-day forum held in Dubai brought together member countries and international observers to discuss collective efforts to enhance the skills, welfare, and protection of migrant workers, as well as to promote the importance of gender equality in the policies promoting the recruitment of labour in ADD member countries.

Ambassador Husin Bagis commended the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation of the United Arab Emirates for consistently providing full support for the Ministerial-level Consultation of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, as well as the support from member countries for initiatives driven by ADD. "Indonesia appreciates the progress made in policies related to migrant workers by both sending and receiving countries within the ADD framework, including the active role of international organisations that have provided many positive inputs in efforts to enhance comprehensive cooperation among member countries," said Ambassador Bagis.

In concluding his speech, Ambassador Bagis reiterated Indonesia's commitment to protecting migrant workers, enhancing skills and welfare, and being ready to collaborate with ADD member countries in addressing common challenges in the future, especially regarding migrant worker issues.

The 7th ADD focused on three main themes to advance cooperation and address common challenges in the future: the use of technology in managing the labour market, especially in efforts to improve the welfare of migrant workers through technological utilisation; facilitating skills mobility of workers in sending and receiving countries to ease adaptation in addressing future challenges; and supporting gender equality in recruitment policies in various fields, both in sending and receiving countries, to create an equal and inclusive labour market. This initiative is crucial to overcoming existing barriers and biases, unlocking the full potential of the workforce, and contributing to broader socio-economic development goals.
