Thepresidentpost.id - Chairman of PT Jababeka Tbk (KIJA), Setyono Djuandi Darmono met the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo at the Kemenpora RI Office, Senayan, Jakarta, last week.

During the meeting, Jababeka Group proposed a plan to develop a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the field of sports.

"Thank you Mr. Minister for this meeting. I think sports are very important. If there (SEZ Sports-ed) for sports training, for example, we must produce champions," Darmono told Menpora Dito.

According to Darmono, several potential areas for the development of sports, especially water sports in Indonesia, are still not maximally utilized.

"We still have not utilized water sports well such as in Morotai, Tanjung Lesung, Kendal to Cikarang," explained Darmono.

In other sports, continued the owner of an industrial area of 5,600 hectares and the largest in Southeast Asia, such as soccer and other sports must be created starting from the villages.

Like, said Darmono in his Industrial Estate in Cikarang there is a soccer stadium complex which Jababeka handed over 25 hectares of land to the Bekasi City Government.

"Let's make (Sports SEZ) easy sports so that they can immediately become like soccer for example," Darmono added.

According to him, the development of this Sports SEZ is not difficult, from the ministry later it can issue related regulations, then Jababeka will invite all factory owners or tenant companies in the Jababeka Industrial Estate in Cikarang for cooperation, especially to support soccer clubs.

"Because soccer is a sport with the highest image and is easy unlike other sports. Later we will negotiate, 5 or 10 companies may be enough. Indeed, the city that does not yet exist is a sports city. We will talk again so that this can happen," Darmono explained to Menpora Dito and his staff.

Responding to the proposal, Menpora Dito appreciated Jababeka's efforts in developing sports in Indonesia. He considered that several programs in the Ministry of Youth and Sports were also the same as those conveyed by the Chairman of Jababeka.

In addition, the utilization of assets in the Jababeka area needs to be maximized, especially for sports activities and facilities, one of which is the management of Sports Stadiums. He hopes there will be collaboration and sustainability of cooperation in the field of sports SEZs in the future.

"We want there to be a target before October, for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) involving sports. The program at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, namely sports, sports, sports are in line with Jababeka too, if Jababeka can be used for sports development, we are ready to collaborate," said Menpora Dito.

In addition, according to Dito, Indonesia as a maritime country needs to maximize the utilization of land and the main potential of sea-based sports such as Sailing, underwater diving and other water sports, especially in the Jababeka area, by utilizing the Tanjung Lesung tourism area to Tanjung Kait to become the largest water sports tourism in Indonesia.

"In addition, Jababeka is also committed to supporting sports achievements by providing sports coaching education from elementary - high school to university level with the President Academy. We, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, are very happy and support the Jababeka Group," Dito concluded.

Also attending the meeting were VP Business Development PT Jababeka Tbk, Ardiansyah Djafar, Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement Surono, Special Staff for Achievement Improvement and Sports Industry Development Ardima Rama Putra, Special Staff for Acceleration of Youth and Sports Innovation Hasintya Saraswati, Special Staff for Law and Governance Compliance Alvin Saptamandra, Expert on Youth Potential and Diaspora Hamdan Hamedan and Director of LPDUK Ferdinand Kamariki Tangkudung.
